Live Performance at Posh Java

Celtic & Classical Music by “Trio Con Moto” Coming to Posh Java
Friday, June 24, at 8 p.m., “Trio Con Moto” will perform at Posh Java Organics &
Gifts, on the corner of Rose Street and Winthrop Avenue in Sopchoppy. The group
features violinists Aisha Ivey and Katie Geringer, and Cellist Michelle Fry.
Aisha Ivey is a graduate student in music education at Florida State University.
An award winning fiddler, as well as violinist, Aisha has won the Southeast
United States Scottish Fiddle Competition for six years in a row and she won the
award for “˜Best March’ at the 2010 National United States Scottish Fiddle
Competition. She teaches and performs classical violin and Celtic, Old-time, and
Scandinavian traditional fiddle styles and also composes her own music. She
started and directs the Florida Fiddle Orchestra, a community group of all ages
that plays traditional music from around the world
Katie Geringer is currently a senior at Florida State University studying Music
Education and has been awarded a Certificate of Violin Performance. In the fall
of 2011, she will be completing her student internship in St. Petersburg, FL. In
addition to being a student, Katie teaches private lessons and performs Irish
music around Tallahassee. In 2006, Katie was the winner of the State Fiddle
Contest in the Youth Category at the Florida Folk Festival. This summer Katie
was a featured performer at the Florida Folk Festival as a member of the Aaron
O’Rourke Trio.

Michelle Fry, a native of Marietta, GA, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the
Florida State University with a Bachelor’s of Music Education in April 2011. A
freelance cellist, Michelle plays for several musicals in the Big Bend area,
including for the FSU School of Theatre, Tallahassee Little Theatre, Quincy
Music Theatre, and the Brookwood Academy. While at FSU, Michelle performed with
the University Symphony, Philharmonia, and Opera Orchestras as well as the Viola
da Gamba ensemble and the FSU Jazz String Quartet. In the fall, Michelle will
begin teaching strings in the Brevard County public schools.

open at 7 p.m.  and tickets are $10.00. Payment may be made in cash, by check or
