Green Industries Best Management Practices, Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011

$15An upcoming Green Industries – Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) workshop is designed to provide training for anyone working in the lawn, landscape, pest control, or municipal grounds commercial businesses. GI-BMPs are focused on reducing non-point source pollution resulting from fertilization or pesticide application. The GI-BMP workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., UF-IFAS Wakulla County Extension Office located at 84 Cedar Ave in Crawfordville.
As you’re aware, Wakulla County requires all commercial and institutional applicators of fertilizer within the County successfully complete this training program.
Topics will include:
“¢Â Overview – GI-BMPs for Protection of Water Resources in Florida
“¢Â Lawn and Landscape Cultural and Fertilization BMPs
“¢Â Irrigation BMPs
“¢Â Fertilizer BMPs
“¢Â Pesticide BMPs
The cost is $15, checks can be made payable to Wakulla County Extension to be received by Friday, January 21, after that, the cost will be $25.
