Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition Walk to Remember
October 16, 2014
On Thursday, October 16th, over 150 family members will gather together at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. to honor babies who have passed away at Walk to Remember. During this free event, certified child care professionals provide activities for children and parking is available at the church. At 5:30 p.m., a reception is held with food and beverages. Guests mingle and write a message on remembrance quilt squares to honor their loved ones. Vendors are there to provide services and information, and grief counselors are available to speak with guests. A memorial service takes place in the sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. Voces Angelorum sings during the service. Families have the opportunity to see their babies’ names announced. A City Commissioner reads the proclamation. At 7:30 p.m., participants have the opportunity to walk around Lake Ella paying tribute to our lost babies during a candlelit ceremony. The Tallahassee Pipe Band plays “Amazing Grace” during the walk. WalkFlyer14 pr2
