About The Wakulla News…

The Wakulla News was established in 1897 and has been the county newspaper of record focusing on issues that are important to Wakulla County residents. The Wakulla News provides news, features, community interest stories, and local sports coverage. Our readers encompass a wide variety of demographics, from the descendants of pioneer families in local fishing villages to families who are new to the area brought here by the close proximity to the state capital, two major universities, and a large community college. The Wakulla News has a paid circulation of about 4,500 hitting the racks each Wednesday afternoon and delivered by mail to subscribers every Thursday.

The Wakulla News publishes several special interest sections each year which include, but are not limited to Green Living & Energy; a high school graduation section in May; a local hurricane guide in June; a Reader’s Choice section in the summer; a Back to School section and a local Football section in the fall; political sections specific to election years; and a holiday greetings section every December.

Deadline for the printed News is Thursday at 5 p.m. for “need proof” advertising and Friday at 5 p.m. for camera-ready ads. Classifieds deadline is Monday at 11 a.m. Legal advertising deadline is Friday at 5 p.m.

Please submit news content as early as possible and electronically if possible, because we are unable to guarantee that an item will run a particular week in the printed publication.
