“Farm Bureau and Wakulla 4-H Announce Camp Timpoochee Scholarship Competition”
Crawfordville, Florida – What could be more fun than a week at 4-H Camp Timpoochee? How about winning one of three $100 scholarships provided by the Florida Farm Bureau’s Wakulla County board of directors.
4-H Camp Timpoochee is a picturesque camping complex located on the shore of the Choctawhatchee Bay. Comfortable sleeping, dining, and meeting facilities allow campers to learn, work, and plan in an enjoyable, relaxed environment.
To enter the contest, create an image-based timeline of your favorite fruit, vegetable, or dairy item, accompanied with descriptive captions. In the timeline, follow the food item of your choice from seed or earliest form to the store, to consumption by the consumer.
For example, corn on the cob is planted in early May. The sprouts break surface in about a week, and the field corn grows to mature in about three months. It is harvested in the fall with a grain combine after it has dried on the stalk and is then combined and trucked to a grain storage facility. From there it can be processed into livestock feed, cornmeal, grits or any number of other products.
