For Women, About Women, By Women
The daylong event will feature a keynote address from Nancy Carter, PhD and Senior Vice President of Catalyst, Inc. Carter has over 30 years of experience as a researcher, educator and consultant specializing in women’s professional development and advancement. She will discuss traditional gender stereotypes and the limitations imposed by such labels. She will then present new research pertaining to the emerging model of Inclusive Leadership and the attributes required to create such an environment. The remainder of the day will include an exploration of meaningful questions, harvesting of ideas and the development of a prototype around the question….
What do women need to be confident and effective leaders?
Utilizing a combination of presentations, small group activities and group discussions we will examine how women are currently leading in life and the collective concerns that women share about self- empowerment and leading others to their full potential. As we intentionally move through this process, the major tenants and competencies associated with success will be identified and the findings will be used to build a prototype for potential services for women’s leadership programs at TCC.
In order to receive input from women throughout our community, we want a diverse group of participants on this empowering day. The event will be held on February 18, 2014 from 8:30 – 4:00pm at Mission San Luis. The cost is $75.00 and includes breakfast, the keynote presentation, all sessions, lunch and a tour of San Luis. Please reserve the entire day, as our activities build upon one another and collectively contribute to the outcome. To register, please contact the TCC Leadership Institute at 201-8760 or visit: https://www.tcc.fl.edu/current/academics/workforcedevelopment/leadership-institute/pages/women-in-leadership.aspx.
