BRACE Announces 2012 ‘Hurricane Biz’ Workplace Exercise Events

~Free disaster preparedness training for businesses owners and workplace managers~

Crawfordville, FL – The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Division of Emergency Management and Be Ready Alliance Coordinating For Emergencies (BRACE) today announced the 2012 Hurricane Biz Workplace Tabletop Exercise dates, free disaster training events to be held in Bay, Franklin, Gulf, Okaloosa, Wakulla and Walton counties in May and June.

“Hurricane Biz” is an online tabletop exercise designed to help owners, managers and employees of businesses, non-profit organizations and government agencies to understand and assess their disaster plans in response to a hurricane scenario.

“Whether you already have a disaster plan that needs testing, or looking for an excellent opportunity to develop one, ‘Hurricane Biz’ will provide your team with the tools and experience to help reach your preparedness goals,” said Greg Strader with BRACE.

The hours will be from 9 A.M. till 2 P.M. and no appointment is necessary. They may bring the Mobile Vet Center. All veterans, spouses of veterans, dependents, survivors of a deceased veteran, present or former National Guard member or Reservist and uniformed service member may be eligible for VA benefits. The Vet Center can let you know.

The Formidable Footprint exercise series has been developed in accordance with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) protocols. The objective of the exercise series is for CERTs, Neighborhood Watch Programs, Neighborhood Associations, Community / Faith Based Organizations, Citizen Corps, Fire Corps and others to work as a team to become better prepared for the next disaster their community may face.

There is NO CHARGE for participation in any of the Formidable Footprint exercises.
