5 – First Sunday, Todd Engstrom – History of bird banding

11 – Special day – Families in Nature will be a Family Night Hike – call for more information. St. Marks NWR Photo Club will be held this day instead of Sat. Oct. 18.
12 – The Big Sit! – 8 am – 5 pm, birdwatching at the lighthouse for fall migrating birds. Fee Free
13-18 – National Wildlife Refuge Week – visit your national wildlife refuges!
13 – Columbus Day holiday – Visitor Center open.
18 – St. Marks NWR Photo Club will be switched to Oct. 11 this month.
19 – E-Tram tour – 1 pm. Sign up in Visitor Center
1 pm Kayak trip to Otter Lake – 15 kayaks permitted – bring your own. Call to register.
25 – the 26th Annual Monarch Butterfly Festival, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No Families in Nature today (see Sat. Oct. 11), but many children’s activities offered during festival!
