Collected Items Benefit Gadsden, Leon and Wakulla Residents in Need
Tallahassee, FL — From now until September 30, WORKFORCE plus is partnering with local boutique Heels and Handbags to help area women seeking employment have access to professional attire at no cost.
This is the first civic partnership for Heels and Handbags, a locally owned women’s shoe store located on Market Street. “WORKFORCE plus does a tremendous job for our region in their effort to make sure that everyone who needs a job can get a job,” said Lila Jaber, Co-owner of Heels and Handbags. “Under Kim Moore’s leadership, not only do they help job seekers identify opportunities but they also assist in effectively removing the hurdles that can interfere with showing up to work. The clothing and shoe drive is a good way for us to partner with WORKFORCE plus and do our part to make a difference as well.”
Items collected include women’s suits, shirts, jackets, belts, handbags, accessories and shoes. Residents of the Big Bend area may donate their gently used and cleaned items at Heels and Handbags located at 1401 Market Street. Anyone making a donation will instantly receive between 20% and 50% off of their new purchases.
“WORKFORCE plus recognizes that an important part of the job search process is dressing for success,” said Kimberly A. Moore, CEO. “Through the generous partnership with Heels and Handbags and the donations from our community, we believe the confidence of our job seekers will increase and help them in reaching their employment dreams.”
